Sustainability

Sustainability has always been at the heart of our operations. Since 2010 we have been a zero discharge unit i.e. we do not release of our waste water to the environment. Growing pollution levels, India’s commitment to the Paris agreement has and protecting our mother earth for future generations is the responsibility of all businesses today. This has motivated us at Team Riyo and we have consciously taken steps to contribute towards these efforts.

We only use 100% FSC certified paper i.e. Paper sourced from responsible sources.

Since 2018 we have begun the phase out of Coal for our steam generation needs. Since 2021 we have phased out use of fossil fuels completely have migrated to using agro-waste/briquettes for the operations in our Boilers.

Additionally we set a target of drawing 100% of our electricity needs from Renewable sources by 2025. We achieved this target in 2022 by investing in Solar Panels which generate 50% of our electricity needs. For the remainder 50% we have purchased IREC’s thereby drawing 100% of our electricity needs from renewable sources

Lastly for all our internal material handling equipment we have phased out diesel engines and migrated to electric material handling equipment to offset the carbon emissions further. Any and all refrigerants used inside our facilities are with a low or zero ozone depleting ability.
